Capital Grants

For 75 years, the Boettcher Foundation has been making capital grants to Colorado’s most forward-thinking nonprofits. With more than $300 million in grants given since 1937, the impact of the Foundation has been and continues to be significant.

Announcing 2013 Capital Grant Guidelines

We’re excited to let you know about some changes to our grantmaking categories for 2013. As always, we seek to make grants to support capital campaigns for the purchase, construction or major renovation of a building that is owned and used by a Colorado nonprofit organization.

For 2013, we are focusing on three key 501(c)(3) nonprofit target categories, with the emphasis described below for each one:

Community Enrichment – This includes grants in:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Community and Multi-Use Facilities
  • Youth Development

Community Enrichment Prequalification Form Deadline is March 15, 2013

 

Social Services – Our focus in this category is on:

  • Basic Needs
  • Self-Sufficiency
  • Protective Services, such as safehouses and children’s advocacy

Social Services Prequalification Form Deadline is August 1, 2013

 

Education – Within this category, our focus will be exclusively on:

  • Early Childhood
  • Higher Education/Post-Secondary

Education Prequalification Form Deadline is November 15, 2013

You may notice that “Healthcare” is no longer a category for capital grantmaking. The Boettcher Foundation will be focusing our healthcare grantmaking in research funding through our Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Program. Click here to learn more.

Like last year, we are using a “Prequalification Form” that helps you find out if your Colorado-based nonprofit may qualify for an opportunity to be invited to apply for a Boettcher Foundation capital grant. You must complete the prequalification form first!
