For more than 70 years, the Boettcher Foundation has been making capital grants to Colorado’s most forward-thinking nonprofits, furthering their missions and touching hundreds of thousands of Coloradans. Our grants have been instrumental in building healthcare clinics, community centers, cultural facilities and more all across the state.

With more than $300 million in grants given since 1937, the impact of the Foundation has been and continues to be significant. And today we look forward to a new era of capital grantmaking.

Announcing 2012 Capital Grant Guidelines

We are implementing a few changes to our capital grantmaking process. Our focus continues to be making grants to support capital campaigns for the purchase, construction or major renovation of a building to be owned and used by a Colorado nonprofit organization. The changes we have made are primarily in the grant consideration process.

First, we’re moving to a paperless system for your inquiries, making it easier, faster and more environmentally friendly.

Second, we will make grants each quarter in one of our four key 501(c)(3) nonprofit target categories. That means your organization should begin your prequalification  review process well in advance of the deadline, since your category will only see grants awarded once per year. The categories and deadlines are:

NOTE: Boettcher Foundation’s categorization may differ from other foundations.

Third, to speed the review process, we’ve created a “Prequalification Form” that will help you find out if your Colorado-based nonprofit may qualify for an opportunity to apply for a Boettcher Foundation capital grant.

Remember, you must complete the prequalification form first!   If you meet the basic criteria, you will be asked to submit a brief capital grant on-line inquiry form.  The inquiry form will be reviewed to determine if your organization may qualify for an opportunity to apply for a Boettcher Foundation capital grant.  Your organization must receive an invitation in order to submit a proposal.

Be sure to check the deadline for your category and complete the Prequalification Form well before your deadline.
