OPPORTUNITY AWARD
In addition to funding the well-known Boettcher Scholarship Program, the Foundation provides another category of financial assistance through the Boettcher Opportunity Award. Started in 1989, the award supports under-represented students at Colorado colleges and universities. Each participating school is awarded $15,000 to be distributed to five qualified students from under-represented groups.
Originally awarded at six institutions, the program now provides scholarship funding to sixteen institutions, including:

- Colorado College
- Colorado School of Mines
- Colorado State University
- Colorado State University-Pueblo
- Fort Lewis College
- Johnson & Wales University
- Mesa State College
- Metropolitan State College
- Regis University
- University of Colorado at Boulder
- University of Colorado at Colorado Springs

- University of Denver
- University of Northern Colorado
- Western State College
