Cultural Leadership Program
Helping the Arts Flourish in Colorado
Key to a community’s strength and livelihood are the arts and cultural programs it supports. We firmly believe that the arts can inspire, educate and enrich our state and its people.
That’s why, in 2006, the Foundation launched the Boettcher Cultural Leadership Program. This three-year statewide leadership development program for Colorado’s arts and cultural sector was designed to help managers and directors in the arts community learn to become better business people and stewards of long-lasting organizations.
We’ve created the program in collaboration with National Arts Strategies, the nation’s premier provider of executive education for the arts and culture sector. The program was designed to create a community of cultural leaders equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond to an ever-changing environment, manage budgets and raise funds, all in order to build strong, ongoing institutions. The Program consists of a curriculum of semi-annual leadership education seminars, plus additional assistance to apply new concepts to the challenges each organization faces.
Due to the positive outcomes from the first cohort, a second cohort was launched in 2009. This successful program concluded in late 2011.
