Policy Interns
Specific Qualifications:
- Minimum of university junior standing; graduate opportunities available
- Demonstration of avid interest in policy
- GPA of 3.0 or better
- Recent or current participation in community/civic interest groups or commensurate job experience
- Superb research and writing abilities
- High level of adaptability
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Commitment to 15 - 20 hours/week for 12 weeks
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Direct and frequent collaboration with Policy Analysts, with whom interns research and write response letters to a variety of constituents on behalf of the Governor, research legislation and other state / national initiatives, arrange and staff meetings, and perform other tasks to assist analysts in their areas of expertise. Interns also interact with agency experts to assemble information that is responsive to constituent letters or is otherwise useful to Policy Analysts.
